Anxiety And Depression Test Results?

Question:
I took a on-line depression test. I scored a 53 which puts me in the moderate/severe group. a score of 54 would have put me in the severe group. I know these off-line tests aren't worth much, but that was a lot higher than I expected - should I look deeper into this?

Answer:
I took one once. It said I was severely depressed and "average" for anxiety. My pdoc's assessment (and my own) is very little depressed these days, and anxiety is up - say about halfway between average and severe. It asked all the usual questions. Perhaps I should be more positive in my answers these days. A lot depends too on the pdoc's overall assessment of your manner, which you can't communicate to a Web page. I wouldn't use it as a guideline for how you are doing absolutely, but more of a hint that you aren't doing well. Does that make sense?
