Just thought I would ask if there are any other people on this group that are caregivers or family that I could communicate with as I have a son with Schizophrenia?

Question:
Just thought I would ask if there are any other people on this group that are caregivers or family that I could communicate with as I have a son with Schizophrenia?

Answer:
search in yahoo or goggle for the email list Schizoph@stjohns there are many mothers there. I don't have the exact address but the schizoph short form is right. My wife has schiophrenia as I do. It is a family solution that works for me.You might want to look at a site called OurBeautifulMinds.com There are suffereres and family there both intentionally included. And I believe they have chats on sundays and mondays. It might be more informal and candid then sz dot com. My son has had this illness for over 20 years and he is still at home with us (thank God). I can feel for you and your partner as it is a terrible illness but I truly believe that "emotional support" such as family really does help. Once again many thanks for replying so quick. My regards go to you and your partner and please feel free to post me, I would like that. I live in Devon, in Britain. I used to live in London, too. I think I prefer Devon it is much quieter. It's nice you have such a close relationship with your son. I'm sure he appreciates it and that it helps him. I hope he doesn't get too paranoid about you guys. That can be really awful for mums and dads. I know because I got really paranoid about my folks, but now I'm much closer to them again, they can tell me how upset they were then. My Dad's friend has a son with schizophrenia who stills lives at home. I think that can work out OK sometimes. I know I like staying round with my folks at christmas time and it's good to see them during the week and talk on the phone. Please bear with me and I willl get back to you as you sound like a very nice personand yes, we do care so much for our son Chris with Schizophrenia. He does get a bit paranoid but not too bad and he really in all is just really a nice person. He keeps to himself mostly and talks to me a lot (his Mum). To me that's what it is all about, please having a bit of respect for people with a metnal illness !!!!!! Anyway, have to got as it's getting late and we have had a couple of bad dramas (nothing to do with Chris) in the past 48 hours. There is NO respect for individuals with "mental illness"! But, then again, there is no such thing as "mental illness". It was made up by the Conspiracy to "control" the Truthseekers of the World. Your son is not "mentally ill"!:-(
