New Treatment for Depression!?

Question:
New Treatment for Depression!?

Answer:
I have information to share with you about several articles on an exciting new treatment that you will not want to miss! A neurologist at the Florida Neurological Institute found that many cases of depression, along with psychosis, ADDH, and personality changes are related to a continual narrowing of blood vessels leading to the brain. In case studies on his own patients, he documents these findings with the use of imaging equipment, and also the remarkable results he has with the use of common vasodilators. This information is outlined in several articles on Cerebral Vasospasm at MedForum's FREE internet site http://www.medforum.com. Feel free to download these articles and share them with your doctor. This breakthrough therapy may have a great impact on the future treatment for mood disorders. IMHO this kind of advertisemnt is the lowest form of scum sucking. I can only hope that throughout your life you only come in contact with others who are similar to yourself. I can only hope that every relationship you enter into is one in which you fully believe the other person holds out the best of intentions for you. Only of course in the end to find that they really had other motives. Don't even bother to tell me how you mean well. I want only the best for you. good news kids - that means that taking the herbal supplement Ginkgo Biloba will treat depression! It restores blood flow to the brain! There is a study going on here in Houston where they are seeing if an omega-3 medication helps in psychiatric disorders such as depression. Could this be related? And if it is, aren't omega-3's found in fish oil supplements? Just for curiosity, have the results of these studies been published in any peer reviewed journal? I don't have any info on the Omega-3 meds. I am actually a nurse working in the office of the neurologist who wrote those articles. Depression has many roots, and not every case will be caused by vasospasms of the vessels, but it should be considered to be ruled out! The articles contain info on the types of imaging tests used to determine if there is vasoconstriction in the brain, the regimine of medications, and the progress of the patient during the therapy. This is not hocus-pocus, but plain medicine being shared by health care professionals with anyone who cares to use it. If you would like to read the articles, or take them to your doc to look at, they are public information at http://www.medforum.com. Just make sure when you go into membership signup you leave any areas for payment methods blank. It really is free, honest! Any troubles getting in, or even finding the info, please let me know. I hope it can help. I will also ask Dr. H. if he knows anything about the meds you asked about. Welcome to ASD Marie. Sorry if I came down a little hard on you there. I still stand by what I said and I still mean it, but I suppose I need to explain a little more about myself so that you understand it/me better.
(Just as you so wisely and kindly did in your response to me which is shown below.) You see, part of *my* problem these days revolves around my need to develop a "new and improved" sense of my self (following the deaths of my father and brother, and the significant depression that subsequently developed). For me, ASD is a *very* important tool in this endeavor. For me, it is sort of like therapy. Anyway, my problems stem in part from a father who would not engage me in the way that *I* needed, and a mother whose motives were conflicted. A father who was not really very "clear" or "well defined" to me, and a mother who overwhelmed(s) me with her needs even while she says she does not want to. A father who died without connecting with me in the metaphorical way that I needed, and a mother who says she *only* wants *me* to be happy. A mother who, in reality, actually wants to be happy herself. Unfortunately, she has so little sense of her own self, that she does not know how to go about it, and so she instead focuses her attentions on *my* happyness. Thus co-opting my ability to find my own way. So where does that leave me Marie? It leaves me with a VERY strong need to be closely engaged with people who have a strong sense of "inward focus", a strong and clear sense of self or working-on-self. This does not mean people who are "self centered" or people who "have answers", but rather people who are "self aware" or are working on it. And herein lies a major part of my problem with your post. You ready? OK, here goes..... In your original post you said "I have information to share with you about several articles on an exciting new treatment that you will not want to miss!" Marie, you don't know me, how could you possibly say that? Moreover, if I am not mistaken you have not even taken the time to "lurk" on ASD and learn about *anyone* here. Yet you felt totally comfortable telling 100's of people that you know what they "will not want to miss!" What *I* did not miss here Marie, was the message that said to me "I am very self involved, but not so self aware". Furthermore, in your original post you stressed that this information was FREE (big woop). In fact, in your response here you say "My announcement is free public information, there is no sale here." But Marie, the www site that contains your FREE information is a commercial site (note that the address ends in .com for a commercial enterprise). This www site that you want us to visit is all about making money. Yes, it may well be possible for us to jump through some hoops and get this little tidbit of information for free (after filling in a form with our personal information), but this site is all about selling memberships and making money. There is nothing wrong with making money for helping people. I gladly (or at least willingly) pay my therapist for his help. But nobody here on ASD *ever* charges anything, nor is ASD conflictually associated in *any* way with *anything* commercial. But the message that *I* heard from you is that you believe this www site shares this in common with ASD. The fact that you might imply this says to me that you are so "self UNaware" as to believe that your ONLY motive is to help people. Marie, what do *you* get out of walking into a huge room with 100's of people that you do not know, and telling them that you can help them? If you came here with that perspective "up front", then I would think "here is someone who is working on being more self aware. I can trust her to be looking out for her own conflicted motives, so I don't have to".
